Mangrove Conservation Assistant

Overview

Reporting requirements: 

  • Contribute to documenting and recording progress of each activity, including tracking MEL, provide monthly progress reports and updates during team meetings.  
  • Contribute to any other reporting requirements as assigned by the MCC or Foundation Director. 
  • Accounting and financial reporting for program activities, including logistics, budgeting and expense reports. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of marine science/ coastal and science management/ biodiversity conservation or other related subjects with at least 2 years of experience; Masters preferred with a strong commitment to sustainable natural resource and environment management, community forestry, decentralization and participatory approaches.    
  • Understanding of marine protected area management and conservation initiatives in Thailand.
  • Experience in community coordinating and working with villagers of the targeted communities and local government officials and NGOs
  • At least 2-3 years work experience with not-for-profit organizations. 
  • Experience in facilitating workshops, public consultations, focus group discussions, and report writing. 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; high self-motivation, honesty and integrity, transparency, accountability, flexibility, willingness to learn from others, able to work under pressure and demonstrate good teamwork.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and preferred experience data analysis tools.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Thai and English is required, language skills in the Southern Thai dialect is desirable. 
  • Willing to relocate to work in Krabi and nearby provinces.
  • Possess a collaborative attitude and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
